PAN promotes education and culture and advocates for the needy and less-privileged. PAN, as an organization, also empowers young people through leadership, career development, public speaking and mentorship.
PAN serves as a center where young people discover their talents and utilize those talents for self-growth, community and national developments.
The Patriotic Advocacy Network, Sierra Leone (PAN) came into being in 2013 from the initiative of five patriotic and diligent youths who were pupils of the Albert Academy Senior Secondary School in the persons of Ansumana Keita, Kandeh Baba Conteh, Sheku Kelfallah. Fofanah, Mohamed Serray Jalloh and Osman Bah. These youths were more like brothers than that of friends. The idea of forming PAN was as a result of the national status quo. Based on their passion for national service, coupled with their patriotic nature; the ideal developed gradually. Sierra Leone was like hell-full of corruption, bribery, abject poverty and other inhuman-related issues. Thus, these five pupils thought of creating a way to assuage these situations in the best interest of the future generation of the country. The main purpose for establishing PAN was to change the negative mindset of the populace; more especially the upcoming generation. The organization was officially launched on the 13th April, 2013 at the British Council Auditorium, Tower Hill, Freetown with a membership of twenty (20).
